We are excited to continue our journey into the next half century, reassured by the fact that rail travel is enjoying a renaissance, particularly among
the over 50s travellers, who are opting for a slower pace, carbon footprint-light way of exploring destinations around the world.

So with the last point in mind, we are delighted to present our Rail
Holidays of the World 2025 brochure outlining our escorted tour
programme for the next 15 months. We are repeating some of
the escorted tours that have proved popular, in particular two epic
Antipodean long-haul tours as we return to both New Zealand and
Australia following two successful recent visits. We return to Canada,
not once but twice in 2025 – enabling you to experience the country’s
scenic beauty and wilderness in winter and autumn. Another stand-out
far-flung tour will be to Japan to immerse ourselves in its interesting
culture while enjoying vintage and ultra modern rail journeys.

Alongside regular favourites we have five brand new tours to Europe
– experience Portugal’s tram and train heritage with stays in Lisbon
and Porto; Explore Austria’s Tyrol region and neighbouring countries
by train and tram; the South of France in autumn is a great time to visit
charming heritage lines and take in Nice, Perpignan and Carcassonne;
Ride hundreds of kilometres of tram lines in Budapest, Bratislava, Brno
and Prague or join two new Small & Traditional tours that discover the
highlights of Bosnia Herzegovina and the interesting rural region of the
Italian Dolomites.

Closer to home we travel to Scotland for a new immersive history and
wildlife tour of Shetland and Orkney and have created a unique rail-
themed itinerary that coincides with the Stockton & Darlington Railway
Bicentenary.
